Exploring Careers through the Myers-Brigg

So I checked out the Do What you Are: Discover the Perfect Career for You through Personality type book from the library. I'm a huge fan of public libraries, especially for books like this that you aren't sure how long you'll be using. I then proceed to take several Myers-Briggs tests online. I found most through this SITE I also did the book's checklist, and shockingly I had 6 different personality types. I narrowed them down by asking my SO to read the descriptions and help decide what was most like me. In the end I was still torn between three, so I decided to read about what careers work for each. As a result my careers to explore list grows longer and longer, but that's a good thing. You'll get to join me in the narrowing process later.

Blogs that I used to Subscribe To

Chronicled: A blog about a woman who traveled to India to volunteer. She switched to instagram and I'm looking for words not pictures.

Happiness Plunge: Short-lived for me. Nice idea but too picture heavy.

Miss Minimalist: Too repetitive and little new content.

Zen Presence: I love the minimalist lifestyle but I find the blogs pretty empty.

Things I learned in February

1. A countertop roaster is easy to use and makes amazing chicken and turkey. 2. Pilates doesn't suck as much as yoga. 3. Ginger snaps are super easy to make (okay I learned that in December but I can't stop making that recipe) 4. Radishes are delish! 5. Bananas Foster is pretty easy to make, and its good to have those ingredients around for evening cocktails. 6. There is great sushi in Bridgeport. 7. Art Institute classes sell out. 8. Picasso can actually disappoint. 9. The real estate inventory in the south loop is really low right now. 10. Doggie dental work is super-expensive!

Organize What?

One of my new years resolution was to spend some time organizing each day of January. So what I have I organized so far?

 1) Desktop papers: I cleaned all the papers off my desk. I filed them or got rid of them and now my desk is clear.

 2) Kitchen Island shelves: This is always piling up with miscellaneous when we want to clear the countertop quickly. I was able to throw a lot of away (candy canes from last year!) or put other things were they really belong.

 3) Kitchen cabinets: I've done two of these so far. I didn't do a full emptying more of a neatening. It is so nice to look  inside and actually be able to find what I want.

 4) A kitchen drawer: I was honestly scared of this drawer which held all our random kitchen utensils and knives. For some reason we never bothered to put in an organizer and as a result I was constantly sticking myself with a knife when I reached inside. Now its neat and I can grab what I want without risk of injury

 5) My alterations pile: So this didn't clean the whole closet but I've been piling up alterations for months. I started the new year with an appointment at the Alterationist (a really cute shop by the way) and cant wait to have jeans that I don't have to roll up. I still have so many places to clear up but taking organizing one day at time makes it much more manageable. What have you decluttered or organized lately?
